About me
Japanese/British social media and digital professional working in New York and London to engage with online communities, and help share stories, whether it is through writing, training, or strategy development. Currently working as Director at Social Misfits Media, an agency that works with purpose-led organisation to help them better interact with those that are important through them, by providing training, workshops, strategy and outsourcing services. As the first hire at Social Misfits Media, I now oversee the US expansion of the agency, through our network at freuds communications and The Brewery. Prior to Social Misfits Media, I worked in content marketing and strategy, research, and strategic planning for digital agencies, as well as in the sponsorship sales team of Manchester United Football club, working to support their sponsorship deals in the Japanese market. I am also the author of Japonisme, a lifestyle book about Japanese culture published by HarperCollins in April 2018. Japonisme is available in over twenty languages globally, and has been featured by the BBC, Vogue, Stylist, Elle and Allure Magazine. My second book, Omoiyari, is due to be published in July 2020. In addition to my writing, I am also a trained private chef, and am passionate about food, wine, sustainability and intersectional feminism.
