J Dilla: Back To The CribIt's already been a decade since J Dilla — the mercurial producer and rapper from Detroit — passed away and his posthumously completed album, The Shining, saw the light of day on BBE Records. As they prepared to release the project on 7" for the first time, I was extremely honoured to help discover and get my hands on a never-before-heard mixtape by the master himself. Made some time between mid-1999 and early 2000, it's a rare invitation into Jay Dee's living room; a fly-on-the-wall glimpse at

Since June 2016, I've been the host and primary broadcaster for the Touching Bass show on world-renowned, online broadcasting platform, NTS Radio. Starting off as a monthly slot, Touching Bass was quickly upgraded to a fortnightly session as one of the most popular shows on the station. Listeners can expect music from across the soulful spectrum and beyond every other Saturday from 2-4pm, including guest interviews, live sessions and mixes.

    London, United KingdomFull Time
Founder of Touching Bass: a movement of London-based soul disciples who hold down a biweekly NTS Radio residency, an innovative discussion/live music series called Speaking In Sound and a regular dance (communicated via texting service) among other creative endeavours with the UK's most respected cultural institutions (inc. ICA, BFI, TATE Britain/Modern, Venice Biennale and British Council). Over the last four years — heavily influenced by the openness of musical institutions like Plastic People — the TB Dance has become a playground for musical exploration. As resident (alongside the four other Touching Bass selectors), I've cultivated a space and DJing style where emphasis is firmly placed on good energy, dance and community above all. An approach unbounded by genre and lead by feeling instead where talented local selectors and heavyweights equally likely to grace the decks. This attitude has steadily taken me further across London and international dancefloors, with a debut Australia/Japan tour in March 2018 and appearances at Field Day (warming up for Erykah Badu), Dimensions (2016/2017), Worldwide (2018) and Brainchild (2017/2018) festivals.
