Government Digital Service

Jul 2013 - Aug 2014
  • I'm part of GDS’ Digital Policy Department, the department covers three key work streams. Digital Take Up : Assisted Digital : Digital Inclusion : All three work streams work closely to help make government digital services inclusive. I have been working with departments to design services that achieve high levels of digital take up and to develop subject knowledge. They include The Home Office, Department for Working Pensions, Ministry of Justice and Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency. Our learnings have been documented and we have developed guidance to support all government departments.

BA Product Design

Aug 2015 - May 2010
  • A multi disciplinary degree included working with & presenting to clients including live projects with Ize & Hasbro. The emerging field of Service Design particularly influenced the course. With a solid foundation on understanding mental models and user behaviours through ethnographic research that justified the design of products, experiences and services that solved a human need. Level 1 – Mainly involved my exploration and experimentation of the design process. Level 2 – Working corroboratively in multidisciplinary groups with Graphics, Architecture & Interaction Design. And the start of my documentary/dissertation, which asked, "Does society have a good quality of life?" Level 3 – My individual perspective on design had gained a solid foundation that guided my focus on two key areas of design. - Service design for prominent economical & social issues. - Critical design used to explore the design process and its power to understand, solve and develop mental models.
