I'm a passionate and versatile freelance motion design director with 14 years experience working within broadcast and corporate communications. If it's an idea you need, I can help. If you need a style frame or storyboard, I can do that too. Or if you'd like help along the whole journey, including animation, I'm your woman! My strengths lie in creative thinking and visually interpreting briefs. I enjoy art direction, developing visual treatments, either with a pre-existing brand toolkit or from scratch, and I'm a fully fledged After Effects animator. I'm fully experienced in the Adobe Creative Suite and have a solid understanding of 3D software (I have been known to jump into Cinema 4D). I also tutor at the City Lit College in London as well as having taught in higher education, so happy to take on any extra tutoring/training contracts. When not animating or teaching, I might be found dabbling in the following: Illustrative/pattern based work, Generative art, Letterpress and Screen printing. More recently, I've become a trainee yoga teacher so who knows where that might take me! So, do get in touch with any design commissions, tutoring offers or creative collaborations. I’d love to hear from you!
Working across a variety of projects for design agencies and film production companies, from initial idea conception through to final animations.
I'm also a part-time tutor at City Lit College, teaching an Adobe Illustrator evening class.
During these three years, I headed up the motion graphics team within the moving image department, assisting with the development, preparation and delivery of creative proposals and pitches, conceiving visual treatments, creating style frames and storyboards through to final animation. My role involved both hands-on design and animation as well as art directing projects taken on by specialist partners and freelance staff. Alongside this, I heavily collaborated with the internal brand, print and digital departments within RY across many of the motion graphic/animation projects, therefore acting as a creative bridge between Moving Image, Design and Digital to help extend the use of moving graphics.
Extensive experience across a range of television and print design projects in a versatile design role. Hands on experience in both conceptualisation, design, creation and art direction of promotional media and identity for a variety of clients, predominately the BBC and UKTV. During the last year I have sought to expand my skillset, working more within branding strategy alongside teams dedicated to creating brand solutions for both UK and worldwide clients. I also volunteered my previous print experience and took on the responsibility to conceptualise, design and coordinate all print artefacts for the 2009 Promax Conference and Awards Ceremony (an event sponsored by Red Bee Media). I worked alongside the both the art director, chairman, external designers and printers to ensure consistency across all supplementary artefacts. As well as working across print, I was also responsible for designing the event information screens and helped art direct the on screen animations. Within the last year I have also been responsible for the design and animation of the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show television advert.
Within a fast-turnaround environment, designed and produced graphics for broadcast promotions and branding, aired within Scandinavia and Eastern Europe.
