My laminated certificate of 'temp of the month' hangs proudly next to my First Class Honours Degree, and I don't know which I value more. Should be an easy competition really, baring in mind one of them is laminated... Whilst looking for employment elsewhere, I work as a temporary secretary and admin worker in different offices. Although an odd role, always staying only for a short time, and yet providing a vital role as substitute, temping has taught me a lot of different things. I have an excellent phone manner, I am very good at interacting with others-as you have to join and leave offices frequently, and adapting to different companies internal online programmes has given me strong IT skills. It was these successes that won me 'Temporary Worker of the Month Award'.
Performing in 2010's Short+Sweet Festival, the world's largest short theatre festival, hosting plays of up to 10 minutes long, I performed as part of theatre group Wrought Iron in 'Testy' by Carmen Cuskelly. This wry and poignant piece detailed the onset of prostate cancer from the perspective of the left and right testicle, and the bone headed penis. We received 'People's Choice Award' in Brisbane, and were selected for the Sydney arm of the competition. http://www.shortandsweet.org/
