About me

 

Faisal Hussain is an experienced Journalist, Director, Producer and Artist. His broadcast work ranges from a BBC 2 Series, original journalism reports for BBC Asian Network radio, freelance voice over work, and most recently, he worked on a TV series looking at Muslim Diasporas throughout Europe for ntr France. Faisal has also worked with many arts organizations, social enterprises and businesses, and has produced a variety of media for them, including graphic and web design, video and audio production. He directed the first documentary film on Hip Hop in Birmingham, named ‘Preskool’ in 2002. He also made the first ever documentary film on the history of Bhangra in Birmingham, named ‘Form Soho Road to the Punjab'. Faisal also produces music. His former group Other Brother was chosen to take part in Chris Ofili’s Freeness project in 2005. His latest independent satirical music video was specially mentioned by NPR Radio in the US and in the Guardian UK. In his spare time, Faisal runs the Inqlab Collective, a fundraising club night for a number of different charities and small organisations. He also is the Director of True Form Projects which produced the Four Fathers project 2013/14. He is currently working on a Research and Development grant from the Arts Council in London 2015/16 around themes of gentrification and black archive. Contact : faisfx@hotmail.com
