- Open for Discovery - Francis Crick Institute, LondonThe Francis Crick Institute is the largest biomedical research facility in Europe. I worked as part of the KCA graphics team to develop the exhibition identity and graphics for their first major public exhibition, Open for Discovery. The exhibition explores how scientists at the Crick are re-thinking research to help shape the future of human health. Exhibition elements included large dibond panels, hanging banners, vinyl on the building facade and postcards that form part of an interactive piece. I worked on the graphic layouts, oversaw print and artwork stages and was involved in the exhibition installation. I designed the main hero image used across the galleries marketing collateral. The image consisted of scribbles and note-like elements that I reproduced from existing notes found on scientists whiteboards at the Crick. This reflects the rigorous thought process, challenges and trials and tribulations involved in reaching a discovery.
- Sorted! Branding - The Postal Museum, London, UKI worked as part of the KCA graphics team to design the identity for the Postal Museum’s new family zone, Sorted! We re-adapted the museum’s existing envelope motif used for the overall museum’s identity, and injected a more playful element to it. The motif tumbles along with the letters of the word ‘Sorted’. The impactful colour palette is a combination of colours from the Postal Museum’s existing heritage and brights colour palette. To support the overall identity, a set of solid shapes derived from the motif were constructed, along with hand drawn marks to be used as toolkit for designers to create their own compositions of illustrations. We provided examples for use of this branding on both print and digital media. We delivered the final logo and toolkit, along with a set of brand guidelines for the Postal Museum’s in-house graphics team to produce the final artwork for all marketing and promotional collateral.
- Family Student & Resource Packs - The Etihad Museum, DubaiThe Etihad Museum in Dubai, which opened in December 2016, is dedicated to telling visitors the story of the founding of the United Arab Emirates in 1971. I worked alongside KCA’s content and interpretation team to design a set of resources for families and school groups to use when visiting the museum to make the museum a more engaging experience. We were supplied with the existing brand guidelines of the museum which I had to adhere to. I worked on the designs of the individual elements, prepared files for artwork sourced and liaised with a print company in Dubai in order to get items printed to the highest standard.
