I graduated with a First Class Honours in Illustration in June 2016 and immediately after began the role as a Designer at the media publishing company Eljays44, gaining experience in branding, marketing and publishing for various magazines, websites and events. Initially my role was intended to be 1 month but after exceeding expectations I was offered a permanent role. Highlights included taking on responsibility as the key designer for the company’s flagship trade event FutureScape, for which I was awarded the ‘Executive’s November bonus’ and creating the branding identity for the new B2B Coffee Shop magazine ‘The Blend’. After relocating to London I was offered various freelance opportunities for different brands within Eljays44, including the design of two supplements for their flagship magazine ‘Pro Landscaper’ and the design of the launch issue of ‘The Blend’, as well as new logos and Show Guides. Since moving to London I have been a Junior Designer at Avid Media, part of Dentsu Aegis. Within this role I create interactive digital campaigns for companies such as Panasonic, Topshop and Microsoft. Here I have developed coding knowledge of HTML and CSS and worked with the front end developers to develop an understanding of the possibilities available using digital formats. Avid Media adapted the role in reaction to my previous experience of client interaction and inter-company liaising, as well as the confident ability to articulate myself and enthusiastic, friendly approach demonstrated during the interview process: the adapted role includes interactive with clients providing creative consultation and taking responsibility of campaigns after the sale has been completed. -Create engaging and exciting advertisements for clients such as Topshop, Microsoft and Philips. -Understand and manipulate webpages using HTML and CSS. -Advise clients on various aspects of the creatives to make the most successful outcome and take responsibility of the campaign from post sale through to completion, when it is ready to go live. This involved collecting all necessary assets, including tracking tags and copy, making sure that everything is to the correct specifications for the specific supplier.
-Clients include: The Blend Magazine, Pro Landscaper, Farm & Deli Retail, Florist Business and Eljays44. -Design magazines and branding identity.
-On sire image generation, illustrations and GIFs for social media. -Managing and producing the multiple daily mailers. This involved sourcing photographs from onsite photographers and online librarys as well as collating copy from the onsite writers.
-Design layouts for various magazines, event marketing and advertisements. -Design marketing and branding for the Eljays44 brand, as well as all brands owned by the company.
