Federico Scafato, product and media designer. Born in 1990 in Bari and grown up in Naples, is living between Milan and Rome. Design has always been a personal attitude for him. In his approach to something new, he is always obsessed by simplicity and inspired by what is around him: shapes, architectures but, most of all, people. He graduated with a M.A. in Product Design from NABA - Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, where he had the opportunity to work with the most influential names of the Italian design as well as collaborate on projects for many companies, such as Aster, Bobino, Italwin, Olivetti, Schaerer, Whirlpool and others. In 2014 he won the first prize of the Schaerer Design Competition for the redesign of a semi-automatic coffee machine; In 2016 he worked in Valerio Sommella Design Studio as Product Design Intern, collaborating on several projects for italian companies like Alessi, Kundalini, Torremato and others; Precision and technics are the bases of his approach to work. His aim is to give solution to problems, an aesthetics to banality, mixing the passion for web, media and new technologies with the pure form of design, envisioning new products which can help to improve the others’ lives.
