Work history
    Ladies Clothing Boutique Owner
     -
During my time owning and operating my business ‘Strawberry Boutique’ I have gained an incredible amount of knowledge by throwing myself ‘in the deep end’ from a small business carrying four small brands to turning over 85k after 5 years with 8 core brands and a mailing list with over 600 customers. I introduced accessories and unique home-ware I had discovered at trade shows in the UK and Europe. Just some of my brands included Odd Molly, Mink Pink, Somedays Lovin',Second Female and Vivienne Westwood Melissa shoes. Being self motivated and resourceful I got stuck in and learnt how to succeed in these varied roles in running the boutique. From the buying and merchandising to bookwork and customer relations. I found my passion and drive coming up with new sales strategies to increase product/brand performance involving thorough market research and fashion forecasting using social media, Press, Fashion and Trade shows and knowing my competitors. Strong organisation skills and prioritising has been essential particularly when faced with the challenges of a high-pressured entrepreneurial environment. I pride myself on being able to communicate and negotiate with my suppliers and customers thus keeping up good relationships. I also designed the Boutiques Logo using Photoshop and created all flyers, invites and all advertising campaigns for the boutique.
    Advertising Sales
     -
Selling advertising space to local businesses. Developing good communication skills in a business environment as well negotiating deals and keeping strong relationships with clients. The first time I feel 'in the deep end' relying on myself to go out and find business. I worked closely with editorial torpid customer satisfaction and repeat custom. I managed to build up a healthy client database whilst working in this position. I set up and wrote a weekly fashion column for the paper which I carried on writing on behalf of my boutique business after this employment.
