Graduating from Plymouth University with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, I have worked within a variety of jobs, all demonstrating my hardworking attitude, excellent communications skills and my creative personality. I am currently looking for an opportunity to step up into a PR Assistant role, I believe the skills which I have obtained during my internships as a PR Intern would make me an excellent candidate .
I’m currently based at Neal’s Yard Remedies as PR & Social Media Assistant. My daily tasks include using the media program Kantar to scan through any media coverage for the brand (national, online & regional), which I save down (using Powerpoint) for trade reports & monthly coverage highlights. I also use our social media platforms, using the program Hootsuite to monitor media coverage. I’m able to manage and view our Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook platform, allowing me to view influencer interaction with the brand as-well as customers. Part of my role as a Social Media Intern means that I’m in charge of writing and scheduling the brands tweets. Keeping in-line with the brands ‘tone’ I post national coverage, product releases, special offers and support brand events onto the social media platform. As-well as Twitter, I also schedule posts and events on Facebook which are in line with the event specification. Helping organise the Facebook and Instagram live videos of events have given me a wider knowledge of engaging the brand with our audience, it has also allowed me to work with new technologies such as the Mevo camera to film live stream videos. On the PR aspect of the role I have helped organised creative mailers for new launches; from ordering the products, helping to collate a relevant list of individuals (influencers & a-list national and regional contacts) to send out to, liaising with printers to organising the delivery for the send outs via couriers. Other day to day tasks include product send outs to bloggers and journalists, replying to press release and product imagery enquiries, organising the PR stock, ordering in new products and stationary, keeping an update to date database using the DIARY Directory and assisting the PR team with ad-hoc tasks. During my time spent at Neal’s Yard Remedies, I have shown excellent organisational skills with a high attention to detail. I believe an excellent example of my competence in the role has been during the fact that my managers have given me the responsibility to ‘run’ the PR office (for 3 days) whilst they have been away at events or meetings.

At LMPR I would monitor media coverage, this would then be collated into a presentation which we could display to our clients. One of my main duties was to organise product loans and gifts to stylists, celebrities etc. liaising with the couriers and the correct individuals. Making sure that the loans were correctly filed in our system so we had an up to date and correct record of send outs, I believe this is an excellent example of my organisational skills and attention to detail. Alongside these tasks I would also assist the team with ad-hoc duties such as preparing the meeting room with refreshments, picking up weekly publications, organising the office with stationary orders and signing for deliveries.
