  • Through business partnerships and targeted social media campaigns, the main focus of this role has been the development and implementation of initiatives aimed at providing new ways to engage, recruit and support members and volunteers for the UK’s primary adult education charity. Working with stakeholders from corporate executives to recent refugees, this role has been dependent on the ability to build, manage and sustain relationships regardless of status. Focused on creating content and developing digital and communications strategies within the marketing team at the WEA, responsibilities have included writing content for the Intranet, the external facing website and national email communications. Through Facebook and Twitter, this role has seen the growth and engagement of a committed online community and increased membership and contributions. Main responsibilities: • Co-ordinating national initiatives, including with corporate partners like Lloyds Bank. Duties included organising and promoting opportunities for Lloyds colleagues to volunteer and promoting sign up through e-newsletters and face-to-face presentations. • Responsible for monitoring budgets. • Working with leadership of both corporate and charity sides via the facilitation of strategy days. • Creating, shaping and presenting new business ideas to potential corporate partners. • Supporting and delivering external campaigns via mass e-mail communications, social media and e-petitions. • Writing and uploading content to the intranet and external facing webpages. • Writing and authoring materials for an online learning platform. • Managing the national Facebook and Twitter accounts, increasing engagement and reach to followers on all platforms. • Providing regular communication with students, volunteers and high profile Ambassadors. • Researching and writing a range of monthly newsletters, call to action mail-outs, case studies, web pages and leaflets. • Taking photographs at WEA events, filming and editing promotional videos using Adobe Premier Elements Pro. • Shaping and drafting the membership, volunteer and marketing business plan.

  • A passion for travelling and food resulted in working with a small team to create a website of travel guides called Voyage Collective. Co-founding this website helped to focus on marketing objectives and help to understand the importance of identifying and growing target audiences. Main responsibilities: • Researching and writing content for the website • Taking and editing photographs using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom • Scheduling and promoting website content through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram • Designing and creating copy for print in Adobe InDesign • Monitoring analytics and reach • Thinking creatively about new content that will further engage online followers
