About me
Hi, my name is Filipa and I am a portuguese Graphic Designer residing in London. Having recently moved to Her Majesty's land and finished my Master degree in Graphic Design I am currently working within Lisa Tse Design & Branding Studio. I perceive design as a dynamic and fluid tool to convey ideas and connect people with a product/concept. Throughout my academic and professional path I had the opportunity to work with incredibly creative people, share and test my ideas, improve my skills and develop my passion for graphics. Feel free to contact me if you need more information. UAL Alumni ID Number: 334927
Projects
  • BLEND
BLENDBachelor Degree’s Final Project UTL - Faculdade de Arquitectura, BA Design For my Bachelor final project me and my peers were challenged to contribute with a concept and product for our University. The FAL UTL Direction was really interested in the idea of creating a new space dedicated exclusively for students and respective work. These space would be an ephemeral structure that could be removed from the place when necessary and it would serve three distinct functions: 1. exhibition venue 2. workspace 3. lounge space. The project was then dived into two different sections: the Product (ephemeral structure) and Visual identity (this would include a logo and also the visualisation of an hypothetical exhibition showcasing the graduate students work). Here you can see the 3D modelling of my proposal and also the visual identity created to name the event. "Blend" was the name chosen due to the diversity of projects, ideas, concepts and talent working together within the University. Product and Fashion Design projects would be displayed across the exhibition and for that I created three different rooms to separate the three different years of the Bachelor. Finally I choose to use some popular sayings (related with each settings of projects) as general titles creating a familiar language for the audience (which could be e.g. teachers, friends, parents, artists and students).
  • Anette Lenz Visual Language
Anette Lenz Visual LanguageThis was a project developed during my exchange program in Polite?cnico di Milano, Italy. It consists on the creation of a catalogue and an invitation to a fictional exhibition of the artist Anette Lenz. The aim here was to understand the techniques used in her work to later apply them and create a piece of work with a similar visual language.
  • A Year Abroad by Blake Parker
A Year Abroad by Blake ParkerThis is a very special project developed for the photographer Blake Parker. It consists on a compilation of some of the images taken during his adventures throughout Europe. The layout is simple and clean so the pictures get the leading role they deserve. Words are only use here on the cover and also on a final message at the end of the book. I used letterpress to print these few words on the book with silver ink on top of black card. The book was manually sewn using a coptic binding. Blake Parker's work can be seen online in his blog http://cargocollective.com/blakeparkerphoto.
  • Morais Leitão Galvão Teles Soares da Silva
Morais Leitão Galvão Teles Soares da SilvaDuring my internship at Brandcook I worked for a lawyers company in Angola called Morais Leitão Galvão Teles Soares da Silva. The company was in need of an efficient and easy way to explain their mission, history and objectives to future clients. For that, we designed a simple brochure with flap on the last page to convey all the necessary information about the company and the case in a matter so the client could be informed and aware of all the important details.
  • The Link
The LinkDue to my passion on drawing, I had the pleasure to contributed to The Link Magazine with some illustrations for one spread of the Issue 323. The theme of the issue was the Holiday Season and there was a need of some strong and colourfull illustrations to fill the beverage section. For that I used a micron pen to draw and watercolor to fill the lines. Lastly I used Adobe Photoshop for the final arrangements such as colour exposure, grain and background.
  • My Old Dutch
My Old DutchMy Old Dutch serves the best savoury/sweet pancakes in London. With Summer coming, there was an urge to create something new and bright to celebrate the date. At Lisa Tse ltd were asked to develop some very spicy and hot visuals to cover the the glass windows of My Old Dutch Restaurants across the city and promote their new pancake flavours. For that purpose I created a range of funky vectors with bright and warm colours to bring some live to My Old Dutch widows. With this people would be more aware of the message by looking from the outside. A poster and website graphics were also developed to celebrate the spicy, savoury and sizzling Summer My Old Dutch had prepared for its customers. This project was developed during my internship at Lisa Tse Ltd www.lisatse.com
