About me

 

Television is my passion and studying the link between a functioning democracy and a plural, responsible media environment has been my main interest up until now. The latest outcome of this has been a final dissertation on Italian public service broadcaster RAI, which features, along with a contribution to public service theoretical foundations, an innovative quantitative method to measure pluralism in tv news outlets. Both as a student and professionally I have developed a good knowledge of international trends in tv. I am not only able to report on them accurately - as this has been at the core of my professional experience - but also trained to understand their roots in society at large, a skill I think it's key to be able to extract valuable insights and forecasts from multiple information sources. Moreover, I am a confident speaker, having liased with stakeholders at all levels throughout my career. I am now looking to have a more hands-on approach to television and to employ my well- developed practical skills in order to fulfil my ambitions: my long-term goal is to be in charge of content strategy/scheduling in a national broadcaster, possibly a public service one. Thus, I am open to jobs that deal with content strategy, planning and audience research.

  • - Designed and authored a RAI-commissioned research study focused on the understanding of Quality by major european public service broadcasters. The dossier featured a qualitative analysis of the techniques for measuring quality and related corporate policies - Contributed to a Mediaset-commissioned research study mainly focused on the impact of new media on international content industries - Contributed to SACD, a research study funded by the Ministry of Culture focused on theatre and other cultural activities performed in situations of social disadvantage, particularly in jails and hospitals. Dealt with both private and public institutions that supported the project, including Ministries of Culture, Health, Integration, Education - Took part in all aspects of the organisation of a three-day festival, held in major public hospital in Rome, that showcased the best practices of SACD. Planned and set up two conferences within the festival - Responsible for public relations - Reported on several conferences on topics such as Culture, Media, Digital Agenda - Edited a number of articles on Italian media regulation and on public cultural policies, published on the media outlet of il Sole24Ore (Millecanali) and tafter.it
