I view my education not as something that was preparatory, but rather as a platform which broadened my curiosity about everything. In many industries a degree in Cultural Studies is frowned upon as being overly broad, but in the film industry it is incredibly valuable, offering knowledge in an array of different topics, ideas and ways of thinking. I also got a 1st in my dissertation titled 'The representation of the Vietnam War through film, and to what extent this has exposed the myth of American exceptionalism.'
