I am a 22-year-old BA English Literature undergraduate looking to demonstrate my wealth of experience and knowledge through an editorial or publishing position. As a soon to be graduate, I know too well the competitive nature of the UK's job market. With this in mind, I hope to stand out as a prospective employee through my previous job experience, academic success and other ventures I have embarked on.Locked Pro Plan feature
As a Customer Service and Retentions Agent, my role has involved dealing with inbound and outbound calls as well as liaising with subscribers by email. I speak with customers on a daily basis to make sure they are fully engaged with both their digital and print subscriptions and I also resolve technical and billing issues on customer accounts. I have become fully proficient in using the Zuora and Salesforce systems to manage customer subscriptions to achieve and surpass SLA’s. I have also been trained to a high standard by established companies Ogilvy & Mather and Mary Gober International in how to build relationships with clients and provide excellent service.
Some of the responsibilities I was given whilst working for this Sunday Times Top 100 company included opening and closing the store on my own and using EPOS and other cash management software to make sure that finances were always noted accurately and securely. I was always rated positively by mystery shoppers and proved to be an enthusiastic and hardworking member of the team by placing customer satisfaction at the very core of my role. I left to go travelling before moving to Colchester to attend University.
Through gaining this competitive three month internship, I was able to administer my skills in organisation and creativity by assisting the studio and public relations team in the months leading to and during Kristian Aadnevik’s Spring/Summer show at London Fashion Week. Many of my duties involved assisting the public relations team with call-ins, writing press releases and helping the design teams with sourcing fabrics, fine needlework and backstage at the busy fashion week show and after party.
During my time at The Holding Company I was able to solidify my skills in handling pressure and meeting deadlines. I often replenished stock and made sure items were clean and presentable. I packaged expensive interior design items for customer collection in a fast-paced and efficient manner as the shop was often incredibly busy. The shop had a very elite clientele, whose needs I was able to deal with successfully. I left the business to concentrate on studying for my GCSE’s.
