About me
My name is Francesca Stuart-Jones and I am a recent Editorial & Advertising Photography graduate. I am a proactive, enthusiastic and creative individual who enjoys working in fast-paced environments and producing content for a variety of platforms. I would like to develop my skills and interests in communications, and learn from a forward-thinking and collaborative team. I like to try new things and I would be of help to a varied institution. I am interested in current affairs across different platforms and really enjoy thinking of new creative and innovative ideas. I have always enjoyed being part of a team and my best work has come from being part of one. I mainly shoot women content in a portrait and social documentary style, but do enjoy product, style and lifestyle photography as well. I love creating creative content to tell a visual story and creating imagery with a narrative. I have experience in photography, research,editing,location/studio, moving image and adobe software. I enjoy researching for inspiration and for new way to deliver projects, whether thats video, a photo book or in print. I would love to work and collaborate with a brand and be apart of new and exciting projects.

Since graduating from University, I have been creating and marketing my photography and blog image. I have created a photography website and a lifestyle, photography and style blog to further develop and communicate my work. I have researched; designed; and created all the websites myself as well as researching and creating all the creative content. I identify subjects to photograph. I research what subjects are popular over media platforms and investigate into narratives that I am interested in and organise what's needed, from models; real people and their stories; time; locations; equipment; post-production. I then decide in which appropriate design the work should be displayed, such as layout; photo books; social media and videography. I communicate with people within the creative industry to try and get my work acknowledged. To do this I created and continue to develop a contact database of useful contacts within the industry. I use the impact of social media platforms such as Instagram and Twitter to communicate with wider and diverse audiences. I use them to promote my work and they offer an opportunity to personally connect with more people in fun and innovative ways. Through marketing my work, my most recent collaboration was with Sister magazine. Where my 'That's What Girls Do Project was featured on their digital zine June 2017. I the was featured in their 'Best of 2017' creatives piece December 2017. In my last year of University. Collaboratively, the students of my year made an opportunity for ourselves to hold a photography exhibition in London, to try and promote our work and gain contacts before we left University. We volunteered for roles, and I had the responsibilities of making an organised database accessible for everyone to put their contacts from the industry they wanted to invite to the private viewing. I then contacted each person on behalf of the students via a chimp mail email service, I then followed up each invitation with a phone call for a more personal approach and to organise a guest list. I was also on the marketing team, where we created social media platforms for the photography work that would be featured; the exhibition itself and to hashtag/follow influencers; directors; brands; photographers and producers we wanted to work with. Another of my responsibilities was on the magazine committee. We budgeted well enough to be able to afford to design and self publish our own magazine showcasing our work. This gave people a chance to take away our exhibition with them to heighten our chances of being remembered or being contacted.

My time on this course consisted of many diverse modules consisting of Studio Location Lighting Editing Post-production software Moving image Vsual narrative though imagery Marketing own work Making contacts Networking Work experience Planning & advertising photography exhibitions Sourcing props; models; locations & equipment Professional practice (copyright; insurance; risk assessments; release forms; production; researcher responsibilities; commissions & collaborations. During my university course and volunteer positions, the most valuable skills and knowledge I've learned are the strategies of how to communicate and promote my work. I understand media has immediate high impact and it allows a closer connection with the wider public. I appreciate the worldwide appeal and varied audience of the Royal Family, and I would like to apply what I have learned from communicating my own work, subjects and narratives to varied brands and people, I enjoy thinking of new and innovative ideas on how to display and edit content for different platforms and audiences.
