Now enjoying a leave of absence to study an Arts Policy and Management MA at Birkbeck University of London. I am very interested in continuing my career in London. In the Teatro Real, Madrid Opera House I worked in the Sponsorship and Communications department doing tasks as follows:
. Designed and produced marketing campaigns for promoting shows and increasing ticket sales as well as reinforcing the Institutional presence in key channels and settings: visual marketing in offline and online mediums, television, radio, underground stations, airports, flag banners and display panels on the streets. . Creative conceptualisation and designing marketing materials for print and digital platforms, flyers, outdoor advertising and indoor multimedia screens as well as newsletter coordination and distribution. Creative writing for radio commercials, music consultancy and television adverts production and supervising. . Financial control and managing the annual expenditure on advertising and promotion using accounting software such as JD Edwards: 2,000,000 euros in kind per advertising space in media and 300,000 euros assigned from senior management. . Supervising the internal and external use of Teatro Real trademark and updating the corporate identity manual with a view to ensuring its correct application. . Editing and proofreading for corporate texts such as press releases and email communication with members, sponsors and high level representatives from the national government and business organisations. . Creating and supervising contents for public meetings, new season announcements and national and international talks delivered by Gerard Mortier, former artistic director of the Teatro Real (2010-2013). Side-by-side collaboration on research and design for Maurice Maeterlinck’s inimitable opera; Pelléas et Mélisande by Claude Debussy ; Büchner, Berg, Wozzeck: theatre of compassion and Mozart, our contemporary amongst others. . Artistic consulting on music and opera contexts, providing corporate communications and marketing materials with accurate contents. Liasing with artists and technical crew to gather relevant information, obtain consent for use of image and strike a balance between communication needs and the creative team’s disposal. . Liaising with a large group of outside partners including opera houses’ artistic and communication departments (LA Opera, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Opéra national de Paris, Royal Opera House-Covent Garden), and artists, national and international media (Opera Now, Opera Magazine, L’Opera, Opéra Magazine, Opernwelt…) advertising agencies, print and signage distributors, design studios for offline and online solutions, audio-visual producers and radio stations professionals. Dealing with local institutions such as Madrid city council on the assignment of advertising spaces. . Community management for Twitter (@Teatro_Real). Boosting user interaction by improving the quality and quantity of contents. Followers increased from 5,000 to 20,000 between January 2013 and September 2014.
. Managing the sponsors portfolio: drawing up sponsorship contracts and overseeing retention of existing partners. . Proposing actions to establish and implement relations with the Teatro Real. Researching new corporate prospects for sponsorship in order to attain higher income levels. . Launching and upgrading the Amigos del Real loyalty programme, enabling members to contribute to the funding of the theatre depending on participation and benefits. . Supporting meetings and events management: biannual Boards of Protectors and Artistic Committee, ‘Marketing and Communications’ and ‘Business and Finance’ conferences in association with Opera Europa (2007), ‘La almoneda del Real’ auction of pieces from past productions and the Opening gala of the Spanish Presidency of the European Council.
