Brand & Communications LeadLondon, United Kingdom
About me
My names Franco Boydell and I'm obsessed with telling stories. I'm the Marketing Manager at Knomo, a global accessories brand based in Central London. I joined the business four years ago as an intern and have worked my way up to become a decision-maker, planner, executor and all round Do-er for the business and brand. Working for a SME is a rollercoaster experience that I would recommend to anyone at the beginning of their career. Working between the worlds of fashion, tech, business and travel, I've used the weight of the business (and of course the awesome product) to create truly great moments. From sponsoring Google events to hosting a salon for women in tech, attending the Oslo Freedom Forum to creating an interview series with cutting-edge London entrepreneurs - I try to make the most of every situations. I'm now used to creating and executing marketing strategies, encompassing traditional PR, copywriting, event production, video production, digital communications - email, social, editorial content, web/product content creation - and I'm ready for whatever comes next.
Projects
  • Kickstarter Project: #LiveFree Backpack
Kickstarter Project: #LiveFree BackpackWe launched our first Kickstarter campaign in April 2017. As an established brand the project was primarily a marketing initiavtie to reach a 12 million strong community of early-adopters. In total we raised £99,052 - 198% of funded goal - alongside achiving standout brand features in the likes of the London Evening Standard, Forbes and Gizmodo, increasing our social engagement and driving traffic to our .com site.
  • Meet the iPhone Photographer // This Is My City
Meet the iPhone Photographer // This Is My CityI organised the sponsorship of Meet the iPhone Photographer, a series of events bringing some of the world's coolest photographers to London to talk about their experiences. To support the event, we ran a social competition to win a huge giveaway of Knomo products. We attracted submissions from prominent Instagrammers and photographers (who have remained fans of the brand) and generated content for the brand to re-purpose. The competition culminated on the night of 'Meet the iPhone Photographer' hosted at the Apple Store on Regent Street. Dan Rubin (the driving force, influencer and creator of Meet the iPhone Photographer) interviewed Brendan Ó Sé - one of the winners of Apple's 'Shot on iPhone' campaign. You can Brendan's chosen image at the top of this post.
  • Knomo Trailblazers
Knomo TrailblazersDuring Autumn 2016, I ran an interivew series on behalf of the brand - telling the stories of our users and interesting entrepreneurs. Knomo products are designed for people who love their work and never stay in one place for very long. By placing our brand within the story of a diverse set of micro-influencers, we were able to showcase our most authentic, intelligent side. The linking theme betweeen each interview was using technology to create an easier, more democratic solution to everday problems. We would always show the interviewee engaging with their Knomo product, as well as offering their tips on keeping organised (one of our brand USPs).
