Visitor Reception Assistant

Fulham Palace

  • As Visitor Reception Assistant at Fulham Palace my responsibilities include first and foremost guiding and helping visitors who may not be entirely familiar with the history and collection of the Palace, so they may experience full use of the resources the museum and the grounds has to offer. My role also includes promoting and marketing the museum and grounds, including creating signage for events and placing in and around the palace, updating visitor mailing lists on MailChimp, data capture, replenishing marketing literature and stock for the museum shop, researching communications and marketing strategies and ideas that will increase audience development and visibility. I also open up and close the museum and help manage the volunteers in orchestrating rota shifts for museum stewarding and tour guides.


Project Assistant & Awards Coordinator

  • Whilst working with ArtsMediaPeople, who specialise in producing cultural campaigns and live events, I was assigned the roles of Project Assistant on the Art Everywhere for 2014 and Awards Coordinator on the Icon Conservation Awards Programme 2015 and part of the events support team on Save The Children-Read on Get on campaign. These roles covered a vast range of duties and responsibilities that were part of the pre and post production of producing national campaigns and putting on events. Aspects of my roles included artist/ gallery liaison, copyright permissions /approvals, archive press and social media collateral, research support material and appropriate talent ambassadors, gathering content and materials for website purposes, events management support, photographer briefing, composing timelines and communication plans, email inquiries and responses, copy and content writing for websites, proofing web and print content, creating briefing packs, press releases and EPKs and contacting media contacts for press invites.


Accounts Assistant

  • To work in a creative consultant agency such as the Chase involved being able to successfully communicate with clients and design teams, and printers to effectively advise and produce a clear route and message a brand/client is trying to achieve. Therefore as assistant to the account director, communication was vital in the project management side of the role, as were successfully monitoring budgets, completing research for brand audits, proof checking, arranging print production schedules and organising of certain aspects of a brief to meet deadlines including the organising and running of a week-long photo shoot. This also involved organising and sourcing props and costume within the budget.

  • Volunteering as exhibition assistant at the Crafts Council COLLECT 2013 at Saatchi gallery not only gave me the opportunity of promoting the arts and volunteering for a cause I believed in, but also provided insight into gallery operations and the marketing aspects involved in supporting such an exhibition.   • As a sales assistant, it was my duty to provide good customer service and also successfully represent the company's brand and image. To complete such responsibilities, one had to carry out certain tasks such as expanding and applying knowledge of recent trends and fashion through external research, awareness of customer rights, replenishment of stock, maintaining the shop floor, health and safety, cashier duties, style advising, increasing conversion rates of sales. I also partook in the visual merchandising of the store.


Curator’s Assistant

Fashion and Textiles Museum

  • Whilst at the Fashion and Textiles Museum I acquired an insight into the pre-production procedure involved in creating an exhibition. Assisting Dennis Nothdruft on the up and coming Tommy Nutter exhibition, my responsibilities included extensive research on the subject, object registration and handling, museum operations and invigilation, completing lender loan forms, logging lender and registration of object forms and finally the return and collection of such artifacts used in the exhibition. I also researched and sourced images that could be licensed for use in publications and literature accompanying the exhibition.
