Member of cabin crew for British Airways, ensuring exemplary onboard service and the safety of passengers. Being a member of cabin crew has helped to further develop my customer service and interpersonal skills. Flying to many different locations and working in both the economy and business class cabins has not only honed these service skills at multiple levels, it has also allowed me to interact with a diverse range of people and provided an understanding of how to engage appropriately with them. Furthermore I am well versed in handling sensitive information and documents. Passenger lists and information, as well as flight details are entrusted to us and it is our responsibility to ensure these are handled appropriately and discreetly. As cabin crew I have ample experience in problem solving. Many unexpected circumstances arise onboard and as such you have to be prepared to deal with anything that comes your way, and do so in a professional, prompt and empathetic manner. This role has provided me with valuable experience of working as part of a team, as teamwork is of upmost importance to both on board service and safety. In addition, however, it has also given me the opportunity to take on personal responsibility and a degree of leadership through undertaking roles such as ‘galley lead’, personally co-ordinating the service for an entire cabin.
