  • No Place to Stay
No Place to StayReared as we are, in quiet and in peace, Now all at once we're thrown upon the world. Thousands of waves was around us without cease, Often delighted, sometimes pleased, we're whirled From joy to grief, and so from hour to hour Our restless feelings waver, change and sway. Our senses know a strange, tumultuous power, And in the turmoil find no place to stay. Goethe
  • The Curious Incident of the Dog in the NIght Time
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the NIght TimeI created a zine based on ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time’ by Mark Haddon. The images are based on the way Christopher who has Autism views the world, and the way he has written the Novel. I wanted to do justice to ‘his’ writing and the way the intended for the book to be read, a crime novel. He poses himself as a detective, so I mimicked this in my material uses and quite obviously in the cover design. I concentrated on one chapter on the novel as it has most content. Throughout the novel I placed portraits of each of the characters which Christopher fixates on and disfigured them to represent Christopher’s view of the characters. For example image 4 is a represents how Christopher cannot comprehend his Dads emotions which I then likened to the lines of a tube map because Christopher found the notion of traveling on the tube an unbearable experience, which almost over took the purpose of the journey.
