Projects
- Original Fibres embroidery collabI teamed up with menswear brand Original Fibres to create a limited edition collection of their Railway Jackets. I hand embroidered an identical flax flower onto the breast pocket of each jacket, bringing each one to life with an image of the plant from which linen fabric is made! The jackets were used for an Instagram giveaway and gained a huge amount of engagement from followers of both my followers (Dappled Shade) and Original Fibres followers. Can't wait to join forces again for the next em

Embroidery teacherfine cell work
Sutton, United KingdomPart Time
I currently teach embroidery at HMP Downview in Sutton for Fine Cell Work, a UK based rehabilitation charity who transform the lives of prisoners and prison leavers through training and paying them to do advanced needlework to create beautiful products for sale.
Alongside one other volunteer, I lead sessions of 15 prisoners that foster their skill development, personal expression, and confidence. I adapt my teaching style to accommodate varying skill levels, offering one-on-one support while maintaining group engagement.
This challenging and rewarding work has helped me develop strong problem-solving abilities, adapting to the needs of the group and finding creative solutions to challenges.
Interior sales consultantDesigners Guild
- London, United KingdomFull Time
At DG, I developed expertise in interior design and a strong understanding of fabric, wallpaper, and furniture, and how these aspects work together. I built and maintained strong relationships with new clients. Through conversations, mood boards, and new ideas I helped bring their visions to life. I also helped organise events held at DG, including the first ever Christmas Bazaar in November 2024. As well as this I handled more administrative tasks such as managing orders and maintaining stock rooms.

Education
Textile DesignUniversity of Leeds
- Leeds, United Kingdom
I received First Class Honours for my BA in textile design from the University of Leeds, which reflects my passion and ability within the subject. The course was half practical and half academic. This allowed me to foster my hands-on skills while keeping my brain switched on. The practical side of the course taught me about visual aspects of textiles including colour, composition, pattern, and textiles in context. In addition I learnt technical skills like Photoshop, Illustrator, how to use looms, and knitting machines.
During the academic side of the course I studied sustainability, imaging, and designers in the industry, to name just a few things. I had the opportunity to write a 12,000 word dissertation on a subject of my choice for which I chose to look at how the nature of society during the turn of the 20th century affected design. I was able to to take a Year in Industry which I chose to spend in London and Madrid. I worked for Chase Erwin, Jenny Packham, Designers Guild, and a jewellery designer in Madrid.
