About me
I am a designer based in the south-east of England. I work in all areas of print (and some digital) specifically in book design and branding. I've worked with a host of publishers, including National Geographic, Harper Collins, Pearson, Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Osprey, and more. I've also worked with a wide array of clients such as editor Victoria Mixon and nationally-renowned theatre company Nunkie. When I'm not designing, I am a writer and speaker. I also really don't like moths but I can tie my shoelaces really well.
Projects
  • PostersFor the past few weeks, I've been working on a personal project: developing posters for some of my favourite films and television shows (image availability depending).
  • Covers - early 2021Some of the covers I have worked on for independent clients (and one publisher) in the first three months of 2021.
  • Pixel Perfect #1: Persona 5Pixel Perfect is a series that examines the contextual design in media. In Noise Machine: Persona 5, Noise, and the Accessibility of Beauty we examine Persona 5's art direction and graphic design through a contextual lens. We trace its history through punk's influence on Japan, examine the accessibility failings of the game, and consider how well Persona 5 translates historical imagery to a modern setting. Liking, sharing, and subscribing help the channel so... do that.
  • Design Works #1: The Last CraftsmanDesign Works is a platform designed to provide contextual design to those who have missed out. Whether you didn't engage with it effectively while studying, self-started and didn't undergo any contextual studies, or want to get a head start, Design Works is designed for you. In each episode, we explore the history of art and design - often through the scope of the people who were there. In the first episode, we examine early-Modernism through the lens of Henry van de Velde. Forgotten for years
  • Strange Totems SeriesStrange Totems is a Sci-fi/Low-fantasy series from Corey Mariani. The covers, designed to represent one of the recurring motifs in the book, are designed and illustrated by Geoffrey Bunting Graphic Design.
  • Experiments in NeonI've spent the last couple of days - most of that time was waiting for Illustrator to respond - building an image by teaching myself to build a neat neon effect (i.e. eschewing tutorials) and the results are pretty cool. Having to render effects on about 200 small circles nearly destroyed my computer... but that's Adobe for you.

  • Context magazineI was commissioned to design the cover for the new magazine titled Context, focusing on the history of art and design. The cover features Henry van de Velde, Art Nouveau artist/architect, founder of Art Nouveau in Belgium. Context magazine is Edited, designed, and, in places, written by Geoffrey Bunting.
