I established an online Reddit community in 2015 within which users can discuss cochlear implants. Since its conception we have attracted over 490 permanent members with more joining every day, these range from cochlear implant users, curious parents/friends, or simply those wanting to learn about the exciting technology. It is a place to share stories, maintenance tips, advice, and have a general discussion about cochlear implants. Tasks include: The daily sweep of moderator logs to clear unwanted spam threads and rule violations. Arranging Q&A sessions with individuals worldwide, such as audiologist and notable Cochlear Implant users. Engaging the community to maintain activity within the user base. Reaching out to prospective individuals to garner new members, from both online and offline. Liaising with our moderators to ensure policies are met, and discuss ideas for future projects.
