About me
I'm currently a third year student at Goldsmiths, University of London (BA Sociology and Politics) and am looking for a Postgrad job in the summer of this year. I'm in the process of writing my dissertation on the rise in rave culture and identity in association with the Hacienda club in Manchester as this time period in the early 90's is something I'm so fascinated by and have been brought up on. Music is something I'm really into; I spend my spare time discovering new music and listening to live bands - I also enjoy travelling, reading, attending festivals. My interests are in, but not limited to, such fields as media, events and marketing so I'm looking for any experience related to this. I have ample experience in hospitality and have been working at The Griffin in Shoreditch for almost two years. I would love to work somewhere which combines my interests with my enjoyment of a fast-paced environment.

As a part-time bartender, I have developed a great knowledge of all the spirits, beers and wines we sell and am able to recommend to any customer who needs assistance. I'm also able to take initiative when we are busy and work at a fast pace for an extended amount of time. Furthermore, I have great people skills and believe that communication (whether that's with customers or colleagues) is key for the venue to run smoothly and effectively.

In order to gain some experience before applying for university, I completed an internship at Manchester Confidential online magazine. I was responsible for press releases, taking phone calls with brands and booking interviews for the journalists and Editor. I was also assigned a piece to write whilst there and had to pitch it to the Editor; fortunately, he was impressed and published it on the website - my first written piece. I think this experience helped me "come out of my shell" and build my confidence exceptionally - particularly in my ability to write and share my ideas.

I'm due to complete my degree and graduate in the summer of 2018. This degree has helped my to digest and analyse information, form constructive and effective arguments and develop my own opinion. I have also developed my writing technique and learned how to communicate my ideas orally in a group or presentation situation as well as in writing.
