About me
Since graduating from Manchester School of Art in 2016 with First Class Honours in Fine Art, I have used this time to hone my interests in illustration, photography and the Adobe Creative Suite. The self-directed nature of my course provided me with the skills to remain disciplined and focused in the pursuit of my goals and ambitions. For the remainder of my creative career I aim to develop and push my artistic vision while making innovation, dynamism and quality the centres of my practice.

  • The Point of Espial
The Point of Espial// Espial // noun (archaic) 1. the act or fact of being seen or discovered 2. the act of noticing
  • The Culture of Collecting
The Culture of Collecting"The pleasure they give [trophies] is, or should be, in the seeking as well as in the getting. The trophy, whether it be a bird's egg, a mess of trout, a basket of mushrooms, the photograph of a bear, the pressed specimen of a wild flower, or a note tucked into the cairn on a mountain peak, is a certificate. It attests that its owner has been somewhere and done something - that he has exercised a skill, persistence, or discrimination in the age-old feat of overcoming, outwitting, or reducing-to-possession. These connotations which attach to the trophy usually far exceed its physical value." Aldo Leopold, A Sand County Almanac, Oxford University Press 1949, page 168-169
  • The Tree I Didn't Cast in Bronze
The Tree I Didn't Cast in BronzeArtworks that fall under the blanket title of The Tree I Didn't Cast in Bronze are a sculpture of the same name, A labour of Necessity and Soil. This project aims to illuminate that point of contact between nature as a material and the human as wielder, and to promote the importance of conducting this relationship in a respectful and sustainable way. Our relationship with the natural world can only be reformed when we recognise that both humanity and nature benefit from a harmonious alliance, and seeking to control, dominate and exploit nature is detrimental to the entire planet.
