> In 2013 I secured a summer internship with stylist and designer Joey Bevan to assist him in making his latest collection which was showcased to the Queen at the Coronation Festival in 2013. I was then offered a job as his third personal assistant and worked my way to becoming his first assistant on a freelance basis, which is the role I have held for the past three years. I have assisted on set of television programs, music videos, editorial photoshoots and worked with celebrity clients. I also liaise with his clients and arrange everything from PR deliveries to meetings and schedules. Through connections made whilst working as Joey’s assistant I have also assisted at London Fashion Week, press events and launches. A few of my highlights being assisting photographer Simon Ackerman backstage at Belstaff’s presentation at LFW 2016 and being assistant stylist and pa to Joey in Florida on a short film/music video project last year.
> Despite this being my first role within admin I found many of my skills I developed within retail were easily adaptable to this job role; such as communication and customer service. It was my job to take some of the pressure off of the admin manager by filling out and filing paperwork, arranging appointments and handling money at the beginning and end of each day (banking.)
> As a sales consultant it was my duty inform and assist customers with their queries about potential purchases and repairs. As I worked on a sales incentive this role required me to have knowledge of all of the product within the store and be able to showcase it to the customers effectively and maximise sales. Although this was only a temporary position for the Christmas period, I was very pleased to achieve the highest sales score for the month of December and gain valuable experience in a sales incentive role.
