About me
I am a London based interior designer with a passion for sustainability and environmentally conscious design. I am a firm believer in the concept that high-end design can be synonymous with sustainability, and aim to prove that the vast range of sustainable and recycled materials and products available today can change outdated perceptions of sustainable design. With a background in Installation Art, I particularly enjoy spatial design and zoning, meaning I thrive when working with open-plan designs. I like the challenge of working out how the separate spaces will interact with each other as a whole, whilst still acting as independent rooms in their own right. Biophile. Gardener. Animal lover. [Amateur] chef. Postgraduate Diploma in Interior Design - British Academy of Interior Design, 2017-2020 BA(Hons) Fine Art - Leeds College of Art, 2013-2016
Projects
  • Open Garden Room
Open Garden RoomA covered patio area for a family in Shropshire, using reclaimed and sustainable materials. They wanted to make the pebbledash less visible without fully covering it, and to create ample storage for all of their gardening tools. Currently in construction phase (May 2021).
  • Ocean Desk
Ocean DeskA desk designed for creatives working from home, with built in storage and a surface perfect for drawing on. The surface is to be manufactured from recycled HDPE recovered from the ocean, with a cork edge to rest your arms on. I learned how to recycle HDPE myself and created some material samples from milk bottle lids and discarded plastic bags.
  • Kitchen/Dining/Playroom
Kitchen/Dining/PlayroomKitchen/dining/playroom design for a family with two small children and another on the way. The couple have a particular interest in Bauhaus art and design, and want that reflected in the design.
  • Kitchen/Dining/Utility
Kitchen/Dining/UtilityKitchen/dining/utility room design for a new build home for a family of four. The design focuses on being a practical, efficient and clean space that is perfect for the clients’ busy lifestyles and love of entertaining.
  • Café 42
Café 42A casual garden centre café who requested a design featuring as many sustainable and natural materials as possible, and plenty of space to further showcase some of the garden centre’s products.
  • Solid State Boulevard
Solid State BoulevardSolid State Boulevard is a virtual gallery space created collaboratively by myself and a fellow Leeds College of Art Fine Art graduate. The aim is to hold regular exhibitions accessible through a website and social media platforms.

I have worked in hospitality throughout my studies. My current role at One & All Cafe has allowed me to develop skills in: both team leadership and working efficiently within a team; interpersonal communication skills; delegating workload amongst a working team; upholding the business standards; training new staff. Working in hospitality has allowed me to gain confidence in approaching different interpersonal exchanges, thus giving me many transferable skills that I believe can be applied to any professional working roll.

2:1 achieved. During my degree at Leeds Arts University, I focused my studies and specialism on the art of drawing - what constitutes as a drawing - whether or not it needed to be physical - and how a viewer's movement through a space can be manipulated. I had always been interested in interiors, but this practice led me to pursuing interior design. During my time at LAU, I gained experience in curating and organising exhibitions in and outside of university. This allowed me to expand my knowledge of spacial and exhibition design, and also allowed me to lead teams of people to realise the events, gaining skills in working and leading teams.
