About me
Gianluca Miotto is a director & cinematographer based in Milan, Italy. He started doing short films at 14 years of age, mostly documenting the urban skate colture in his home town, Treviso. In 2009 he worked at Fabrica, international research center of communication, which gave him the chance to explore different ways of filmmaking: commercials, documentaries, experimental & interactive videos. While he was attending a BA course in Media and Communication at IULM University in Milan he started working as assistant director, 2nd unit operator and editor for several house production companies. Starting from small productions he gradually reached a higher level of work which gave him the chance to learn from some of the best Italian directors, working mainly on commercials. He graduated in 2013 with a thesis on the efficacia dell’utilizzo di interactive installations in advertising. He now works as a freelance director and cinematographer. Main clients: Mtv, Red Bull, United Colors of Benetton, Diesel, Sisley, Unesco. His work has been published on several magazines and media platforms including: Colors Magazine, Highsnobiety, Desillusion Magazine, Transworld Mag.
