I am currently working at Hackney based personalised children's publishing startup, Wonderbly. I have a special interest in creative coding and typography. I have recently embarked on a mission to teach myself how to use Processing and aim to learn other creative programming languages after that.Locked Pro Plan feature
At Wonderbly, I look after the design and art direction of our books. I also spend time coming up with new ideas for dynamic products as well as find and recruit illustrators. I work closely with producers, engineers, creative technologists, designers, illustrators and writers.
At Nosy Crow I had the opportunity to consolidate the skills I acquired whilst working in traditional publishing. Whilst there I developed new book ideas, created concept designs for the successful pitch to The British Museum, designed covers and designed a selection of books for established series.
During the time spent working at Puffin I had the pleasure to assist the Art Director at the time and worked on many different titles. I also was invited to make designs for pitches and other projects for the company allowing me to develop skills that aren't specific to traditional publishing.
At the end of my final year at University I was awarded an internship at Puffin Picture Books. The main project I worked on during this internship was the set design for the launch event of "The Further Adventures of the Owl and the Pussycat" by Julia Donaldson and Charlotte Voake. I also assisted the Design Manager on a few smaller book design projects.
