Since 2012 I have been developing ideas and delivering film programmes, under the name of MicroMacro Film, with a specific focus on the overlap between art and science. Programmes included: - screening of silent film ‘Aelita’ (1924) with parallel exhibition of works by contemporary visual artists engaged in art-science practice - a selection of archival films and video art on the exploration of the unknown at both a microscopic and macroscopic level
Management of the rights-holder and distribution arm of the documentary “Girlfriend in a Coma”. Key responsibilities: - managing and negotiating all contracts for sales of rights of the documentary - supervising marketing activities, creating press-kit, newsletters; monitoring press reviews; submitting the documentary to film festivals; dealing with all media requests - booking the tour of the film in Europe - supervising annual budget and cash flow plans; managing all annual accounts, suppliers and contractors - issuing invoices and coordinating all payments - management of the team and supervision of the website.
Coordinating the development, production and post-production of the documentary “Girlfriend in a Coma”. Key responsibilities: - assisting the director in all stages from concept development through to delivery - researching and completing applications for funds in the UK and Europe - liaising with institutions to obtain interviews, organising shoots, travel and accommodation for the crew - drafting contracts and agreements - updating budgets - supervising post-production - coordinating archive research; managing rights clearances for all archive materials.
Assisting the sales agent of documentaries. Key responsibilities: - assisting the Head of Acquisitions in the acquisition process, researching and selecting documentaries, requesting screeners, writing film reports - logging all incoming submissions and ensuring a timely response - management of the post-acquisition process, including establishing and maintaining relationships with independent producers and directors - updating and maintaining contact databases - pitching to buyers and coordinating meetings for the sales team at major international film markets.
Assisting with the curation of the first Australian retrospective on Pasolini, a silent film programme and a programme on contemporary Iranian visual artists. Key responsibilities: - researching, viewing and writing programme materials for the Pasolini retrospective, including works from contemporary visual artists inspired by Pasolini - drafting presentation materials, film notes and programme summaries - updating and maintaining contact databases - drafting budgets; negotiating and clearing rights for the entire programme - ensuring that the quality of all prints from various archives matched the requirements of the Cinémathèque; organising prints transportation - translating intertitles of silent films (Italian-English) and live-subtitling - background research on Iranian visual artists for a forthcoming project, preparing research materials for the Head of International Art.
