Projects
- Micro/Macro: The World Inside/OutA selection of archival films and video art on the exploration of the unknown at both a microscopic and macroscopic level. Covering a period over 100 years, the programme traced a path from early microcinematography (1908) to a Soviet film by A. Pelechian, his rarely seen “Our Century” (1982). With introductions by Senior Curator at Science Museum, Tim Boon, and Film Curator at the Whitechapel Gallery, Gareth Evans.
- Life on MarsA tribute for the 90th anniversary of the Russian classic “Aelita” (1924) by Yakov Protazanov on the eve of the 53rd anniversary of the first human flight to orbit the Earth by Yuri Gagarin. The event evolved around the relation between Mars and Earth, and drew a link between the two planets through works by contemporary artists engaged in art-science practice. Sight & Sound contributor Ian Christie introduced the screening.
