About me

Glen Paul Mendes BA Hon's Undergraduate Wimbeldon UAL Camberwell UAL Student at MA Illustration & Visual Media Artist Statement: Introducing Ki-art connecting as experiance sacred and creative energy as a bio mass image, I work outside of conventional dogma that allows freedom from tradition. My Way is No way .This is the path of Difference. Utilising potential Line energy By experential fieldwork reaserch visiting rich sacred sites I am able to develop working upon the Landscape and Brambel Graffiti Line that I transform into ArtLine into an Abstract Language I am a very experimental adaptable artist who revels in spontainious accidents the more messy it gets the better for out of chaos appear's beauty its about setting a sacred space and inviting in creative energy. In my travelling echoing Arthur Rimbaud to find solace in sacred and profaine places finding traditional ways of living humanely and economically without harming the environment, I have also been immersed within cultural differences and poverty that can lead to social exclusion, and indifference to the caretaking of our natural landscape. I have roots in travel and experience from this a sense of freedom into storytelling that provides an escape into another world With Influences from specific histories such as Sculptress Barbara Hepworth, painters Antoni Tapies, Robert Smithson Jackson Pollock, and Ci Twombly Jimmie Durham and Joseph Beuys Photographer Micheal Freeman. The journey is the work From a wealth of previous experience ingredient builds, gives fullness this essence forms a narrative for storytelling where Earth Air Fire Water elements, painting/image making and objects are married by a Shamanic ritual and becomes the works mojo. I am aware that hunting with intention that is the finding of objects to be transformed retain a place in the subconscious yet elevate us into universal mind. So walking into the work with respect becomes a cultural objective with an epitaph of possibilities for our future existence.
