I have extensive experience in the fashion and creative industries. I completed my Fine Arts degree to immediately move onto Visual Merchandising for Country Road Auckland, whilst co-directing Circle Gallery, Newmarket; a co-founded art gallery and studio directed by a colleague and myself. These invaluable experiences have helped me gain an understanding for every facet of companies’ workings, from customer relations to event management. I pride myself on my professional and friendly demeanour. I have excellent communication skills and work efficiently and effectively to complete a task individually and as part of a team.
Assistant to the head in house fashion stylist for Woman's Day magazine NZ.
I was Jane Mow's assistant for a number of high level photoshoots. I helped source clothes and accessories for the photoshoots. I assisted on a magazine cover, a wedding magazine spread and a number of other smaller shoots. I helped style and dress the models making sure they were ready for each photo whilst ensuring Jane had everything she needed whilst constantly communicating with the other team members to make sure things ran smoothly.
Working with a photographers, assistant photographers, models, makeup artists and editors Sourcing clothing and accessories, props and creating cohesive and interesting photographs.
Working as part of a small team around six stores in the Auckland region, I co-operated with the managers of each store (taking into consideration product lines and sales performance) to envisage the merchandising layout and the window displays for their stores. General guidelines were provided, however an artistic eye, the ability to visualise the finished effect plus imaginative problem solving are necessary to achieve eye-catching and engaging product displays that communicate the Country Road lifestyle across the range of womenswear, menswear, kidswear and homeware.
This role required the development of self and group management skills for a start-up gallery in Newmarket Station Square. I organised and co-hosted fourteen different successful events and openings for art shows. I created the Circle brand and set up the Circle’s Facebook page as a point of contact with the gallery community. I was responsible for marketing and promotions - building relationships with artists, specialist suppliers and advertisers.
