This project proved my ability to produce a practical yet interesting design whilst working under pressure within a group, from concept stage to the final presentation. To be build in September 2013. Volunteered to design the Free Range Exhibition Booklet for the University of Portsmouth Interior Design graduates. The booklet celebrates each student as an individual as well as delivering an overall identity as a class. Inspired by the stencil font and raw materials used in the Exhibition, I decided to use only monochrome throughout the booklet, allowing the students work to stand out against the white backdrop, becoming a focal point on each page. I also asked each student to provide contact details, portfolio websites, blogs, their top five skills and a short piece of information about their project, allowing each student to express what interests them and who they are as a designer. Printed July 2013.
Whilst on my one month internship at Helen Green Design, I gained a strong understanding of the way a design studio works. I was able to apply my skills towards live projects that included creating quick sketch visuals to present to clients, forming clear mood boards, arranging and assisting within meetings and ordering, collecting and organising stock and materials.
I have been the solo photographer for a Wedding, been commissioned for a Spring Hair Boutique and organised and delivered various portrait and personal fashion shoots. I thoroughly enjoy every part of the process from planning through to shooting down to the editing. Skills which have benefited me during photo shoots, is the ability to make the model or surrounding people feel comfortable and safe, and also to be discreet and quick.
