Fashion Career Researcher & PresenterSouthampton Solent University
     - Southampton, United KingdomInternship
During lockdown, I completed work experience for the University in my final year of my Bachelor's degree. I was responsible for creating an insightful guide into careers within the fashion industry. I executed extensive primary and secondary research, which involved collecting and analysing relevant information and data from various sources, and interviewing fellow students. I organised my research into an informative and professional guidebook for the use of Solent fashion students. This role allowed me to further enhance my skills in researching, analysing, creating and presenting an outcome that is tailored towards a specific audience.

    Master of ArtsSouthampton Solent University

Relevant Units: Concept Development, Researching Visual Culture, Professional Practice I completed a MA project which involved a collaboration with a fashion & art magazine, for which I independently created a tailored package of outcomes to fit the magazine's aesthetic. The package included conceptualising and planning a fashion editorial story, conducting an interview with a fashion brand, sourcing garments from a designer, casting models and managing a creative team. I achieved a grade of 83 for my Master's Dissertation. Titled "The Emergence of Maximalism within Online Fashion Communities: Is it More Than Just a '#Style'?", my thesis explores the relevance and importance of maximalism in relation to a post-COVID-19 social context and the contemporary fashion industry, and it's resurgence within social media platforms. This study heavily relied on extensive ethnographic primary research that was collected and sourced from various platforms of social media. I studied a range of maximalist individuals and influencers and reached out to them, creating a rapport with those that responded and then interviewed them. This helped me to gain a greater understanding of their personal ethics and values and increased my knowledge of a diverse and inclusive culture which was invaluable for my research.

Bachelor of Arts (BA) Southampton Solent University
     - Southampton, United Kingdom
Relevant Units: Design and Product Development, Fashion Business and Marketing, Digital Fashion Design, Fashion Illustration, Fashion Theory and Practice. Fashion Design Portfolio was featured online on Graduate Fashion Week. I completed a commercial menswear project, which involved creating an outerwear collection for sportswear and performance brand MA.strum. I designed a six outfit collection to fit to the brand's identity. This process involved researching and sampling relevant design techniques and processes, sourcing appropriate fabrics and designing my own printed fabric that would suit the brand's image, but still illustrate my own unique style. My BA Final Major Project involved the independent designing and creation of a six outfit collection, based on my own unique concept. I was given creative freedom to chose a concept that I was passionate about and that showcased my identity as a designer. The process involved creative pattern cutting and sampling, print design, digital fashion illustration, the creation of technical specification sheets, fabric sourcing and garment construction. I also completed a Bachelor's Dissertation that combined my passions for sociology and fashion. This involved a critical analysis and exploration into the notion of class differentiation and its relationship to fashion and modern societal systems. I studied a range of classical and contemporary sociological theories and applied these to the discipline of fashion studies. I achieved a grade of 92 for this thesis.
