About me
My name is Hannah MacDonald and I am an illustrator, my work is centred within the children’s markets, my greatest passion is creating children’s picture books. I like to work across a range of art mediums, from digital to more traditional materials, like watercolours and pencils. I am from Falmouth, Cornwall, and growing up in this beautifully artist location, I have always been surrounded by things that inspire me. I have always had a love for art from a very young age, it has been much more than a hobby; taking art as a subject in school, for GCSE and A-Level, later going to the University of Plymouth and graduating with a degree in BA (Hons) Illustration with Children’s markets in 2020. My strengths lie within my vast imagination, and love for generating lovely and unique ideas for my work. I have experience within my field, having entered two picture books into the Macmillan prize; professionally collaborating with an author, producing illustrations for a children’s book the author had written. I have also gone on school visits as a guest illustrator, completing art workshops with the children, and even having the opportunity to read my picture books to them and getting valuable feedback. I love creating beautiful, detailed illustrations full of magic, colour and texture, but above all I believe my love and passion for what I do, and what I make shines through most in my drawings.

Its about a little child who wonders about the world around them, the child is illustrated in rainbow colours to show no gender and make all feel includes, it also represents a child’s wonder and innocence, with a grey and uncerta
