About me
I am an enthusiastic, committed young graduate with a First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art. My creativity leads to a natural curiosity in my work ethic, thus I am able to approach situations from different perspectives, making me a good problem solver. I am looking to pursue a career in the arts and/or heritage sector as I feel it would be incredibly rewarding to contribute towards improving accessibility for arts, culture and history to a diverse range of people.
Projects
  • Recollection (2016)
Recollection (2016)A triptych of videos installed temporarily in the Engineering Workshop at the Historic Dockyard, Chatham, UK as part of my end of year display for Stage 2. The series explores ideas around nostalgia, memory and the archive, creating a crossover between past and present, and blurring the line between deteriorating archival history and re-imagining recollected memories.
  • Memory Quilt (2016)
Memory Quilt (2016)Memory Quilt reflects a fascination with the inter-connectivity and layers of history contained within archives. The continual process of ripping, cropping, printing and rendering have left the information as copies, far removed from their originals, mirroring the journey and deterioration of archival material. The videos draw influence from various historically significant locations around Medway, including St. Bartholomew's Hospital and Chatham Dockyard. The sounds perhaps an echo of past events that this historic house has been a living witness to. Memory Quilt was exhibited in Loading..., a group exhibition curated by current third year SMFA students from the University of Kent in Medway. The exhibtion took place in December 2016 at Chatham House, a disused Georgian mansion located on Rochester High Street.
  • Memory Quilt II (2017)
Memory Quilt II (2017)I am permanent yet unstable. My contents are fixed in time but easily lost in the past. Stories forgotten and retold, memories recalled over and over until they change altogether from their original. Like a scan; ripped, rendered and degraded, each attempt to preserve is another layer lost. A paradox worth celebrating. Am I stuck in the past? As I attempt to reorder myself, make sense of all that has come before me, I am aware of the uncertainty of the present. Is my heritage merely a comfort? It is human nature to desire to find our place in time and history; if we lock away the past in air conditioned walls for the purpose of conservation, do we not forget what is inside? Now is the time to look back, open the boxes and expose what's inside to the elements, in order to find a way to navigate forward.

Since April 2012 I have been running a small online shop, which specialises in hand designed, personalised t-shirts. Though currently selling on Etsy, I have also sold on eBay and BigCartel in the past.
