My role at Mumsnet involves working alongside the Client sales team within the Commercial team. I pitch for and manage advertising campaigns involving display, competitions, newsletters, product tests as well as other advertising platforms. I come up with creative ideas for new brand partnerships with Mumsnet and manage client relationships. My role involves working across teams including the insight team, social media and content team. I am also required to report on Google Analytics, DFP, and Campaign Monitor.
I worked to help launch the new M&S loyalty ‘Sparks’ card. This involved promoting the benefits of the card, registering new customers and setting up the store events to help raise awareness. This role required me to enthuse customers about the card the Marks and Spencer brand.
As an intern for this market research agency my tasks included film making and editing, carrying out interviews and focus groups, charting, making presentations and planograms, administration, interview logging, updating social media and the website, as well as dealing with clients. Clients included Diageo, TGI Friday’s, Krispy Crème, Co-operative, Asda, Holiday Inn and more. I completed my own research project on Millennial’s eating and drinking out behavioral change, from writing the proposal, conducting the research to delivering the debrief presentation.
This role required communication skills, keep up with the fast pace and initiative to provide customer service at various events at the Sydney Olympic park, cricket and football stadiums. It involved team work with multi-national colleagues.
Working in the property team I conducted various administration and data handling tasks relating to the properties and assets owned by the church. This required participating in cross-department meetings to understand the new system which was being implemented. I also covered reception when required, answering the phones and welcoming visitors.This role gave me the opportunity to learn how such a large organisation functioned, as well as exposure to working in another culture.
I returned (by request) for a second year working with groups of European students aged 9-18 who were learning English. I organised, supervised and participated in activities from sports, arts and crafts to talent shows. I was able to use problem solving skills when leading tours of London using public transport with groups of up to 45 students. The role required work commitment from 07:00 to 23:00 and a friendly and enthusiastic face throughout as a main aim was to encourage the students to practice English.
As a mentor on the the NEET (Not in Education Employ Employment or Training) programme I was matched with a young person. Through communication I was able to build relationships and then advise and work with the young person to help them realise their own skills and complete the programme so as to aid their future prospects.
I worked from briefs to produce artwork to sit along side articles in the printed magazine and online site.
It was my responsibility to leed campus tours around the university for prospective students and their parents, answering any questions about Leeds, university life, the faculty and course specifics.
