Having self-funded my way through two of the world's top art and design universities whilst working as an agency worker (electrician), I'm presently researching the role of worker-led intelligence in improving work standards, conditions and productivity.
My startup, earwig, is a reviews platform for construction workers on temporary contracts. It shows relevant, detailed worker-led intelligence about recruiters and workplaces so workers feel secure when choosing jobs. Workers make the most informed decisions, find the best jobs and pay rates and engage with other workers in the earwig community. It’s the only platform of its kind in construction.
earwig won the 2017 Our Place in the World investment prize, a Do It award from UnLtd - the foundation for social entrepreneurship, is being supported by philanthropists Tom and Claire Shutes and is receiving incubator support from InnovationRCA, the Royal College of Art's centre for entrepreneurship and commercialisation.
earwig has been chosen to partake in the RSA's 2019 Economic Impact Accelerator

- Key messaging and copywriting for logistics tech companyIn 2018 I was responsible for creating a new brand story and website copy for a Hong Kong-based logistics technology company. My duties included wireframing, customer-learning, and copywriting to appeal to a target market of B2B and B2C retailers. I used the 'job to be done' framework to identify customer needs and turned my findings into a clear and compelling narrative with calls to action that drove business growth. In addition, I have written pitch decks, business plans, and a Knowledge Ba
- Founded company: earwigOver 850,000 construction workers operate on temporary contracts through a multi-tier contracting structure where specialist and general recruitment agencies sit between them and the ultimate employer. These agencies hold contracts and outsource payment and their performance varies dramatically. Poor worksite conditions and bad management further exacerbate workers’ sense of insecurity. All of this creates personal crises for many workers who have limited power to effect change. earwig is a rev
- Trophy design for Sheffield Doc|FestIn 2017 I was chosen to design and produce 10x awards trophies for the annual Sheffield International Documentary Film Festival (Doc|Fest), a commission I now undertake each year. My work involves the whole process of concept design, drafting, 3D animation, copywriting, font sourcing, steel finishing, engraving and transportation of the trophies ready for their presentation to award winners at the festival.
