Harry (1989) is a London-based self-taught autistic filmmaker from a working class background. Originally from Kingswood, Bristol, he left school at 16 with no grades and worked as a labourer and roofer for several years. After getting in trouble with the police and realising there was more to life, Harry moved to Ibiza to work for the summer and discovered a passion for photography. Upon his return to the UK, he moved to London to study Fine Art Photography, where he realised a love of cinema - and has been obsessed ever since.
Inspired by his involvement in housing activism whilst at university, and with a view to using the film as part of his application to film schools, he made his first short film Roxanne in 2016. Roxanne follows a young homeless woman as she bumps into a former partner. With many other ideas already in mind, he made Between Walls (2018) soon after. Between Walls was screened at several international film festivals, including the BIFA-qualifying Little Wing Film Festival in London and British Shorts Film Festival in Berlin.
The Out (2021), Harry’s latest short film, follows 24 hours in the life of a recovering heroin addict, recently out of prison (played by BAFTA winner Allan ‘Seapa’ Mustafa) as he tries to care for his young daughter. Inspired by his family history, the film is coming to the end of a successful festival run. It premiered at the Oscar-qualifying Indy Shorts Film Festival in 2022, named One of The Top 20 Best Short Film Festivals in The World by Moviemaker Magazine. Since then, it has screened at numerous BAFTA and BIFA-qualifying film festivals, picked up a Best Director award, and a nomination for Best Short Film at the British Short Film Awards.
I'm looking to work commercially as a freelance film director/editor and looking to build up my editing portfolio. I'm an intuitive editor with an in-depth understanding of narrative flow and I'm highly proficient in Premiere Pro & Da Vinci.
