Producer with a background and interest in both long-form and short-form documentary and current affairs programming. Works across production and development and interested in opportunities in short film and at creative agencies. I have considerable experience sensitively casting, building relationships and filming with often hard to access contributors. I have built access to major institutional partners from the ground up on a number of documentary programmes and series. I have extensive experience of the entire production process, working both independently and closely with Directors to research, secure access, cast and produce shoots, as well assisting with scripting and the edit. I can self-shoot on the Canon Xf305, C300, Sony EX1 and small studio cameras. I specialise in documentaries that tell difficult and inspiring stories with genuine warmth, covering complex subject areas including working poverty, mental health, LGBT+ issues/history and crime. My background generally lies in observational documentaries and testimony driven history/documentary films. I also have experience VT/edit producing for flagship BBC current affairs programme Newsnight. In terms of development, I have taken ideas from conception through to securing development funding and commissions for multiple networks - including BBC One, BBC Two and Channel 4. Trained up by the BBC through their prestigious Production Trainee Scheme, which ran from Oct 2013 - Oct 2014. I was formerly a Broadcast Journalist working across BBC flagship news programmes.
