Hi, I’m Harry
I’m the Digital Director at Dazed Media, where I oversee the development and growth of Dazed, AnOther and NOWNESS. I also write CTRL + ALT + DELETE, a free newsletter about traffic and audience trends.
Previously, I was the Acting Editor-in-Chief of HuffPost UK and steered its 40-person newsroom through the Covid pandemic, global civil rights movement and the early stages of the site’s acquisition by BuzzFeed in late 2020. I was also Executive Editor of Audience Development and responsible for social media, search engine optimisation, data in the newsroom and audience growth.
Before that, I was based in New York with The Guardian as Deputy and then Head of Audience Development for a number of years, including the Trump presidency. I held similar roles in the London newsroom too.
A few other headlines:
I’m a member of The Lenfest Institute‘s Audience Community of Practice.
I taught digital journalism with PA Media’s training arm until July 2023.
I’ve spoken at the Tow Center at Columbia University, Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism and PA’s Festival of Journalism with the Google News Initiative.
And I’ve written in the British Journalism Review about how important it is for journalists to know their audience.

- A new homepage for DazedWe built the new Dazed homepage with designers, developers and editors to reflect our new editorial strategy and showcase the best of Dazed every day. Our fantastic Club members also shaped this by sharing their thoughts on prototypes in UX sessions and are now part of a little bit of Dazed history. Huge thanks to Lucy Holubova, Ifrahim Rasool, Bill Bixby, Nour Ibrahim, Nicole Brock and Martin Pereira for their ideas, diligence and code.
