About me

My name is Harry Woodgate and I'm a freelance illustrator based in St Albans, UK. I work with clients across editorial, publishing and advertising sectors, and my work has been recognised in numerous professional and student awards. My illustration practice combines the rich textures of collage and print processes with digital imagery, resulting in innovative and eye-catching outcomes. I'm inspired by psychology, LGBT and queer identities, and our relationship with the natural world. Clients include: The Sunday Times | The Bureau of Investigative Journalism | Little Tiger Press | SCOOP Magazine | Intercom | Big Issue | Narratively | Bulletin Magazine | University of Hertfordshire | Resurgence & Ecologist | Andersen Press Awards include: Penguin Student Design Award (2017, 2018), Folio Society Book Illustration Competition (2018, 2019), Batsford Prize (2017, 2018), YCN Student Awards (2017, 2018) and more. I am available for freelance illustration and design work, and other business opportunities - just message here on The Dots or email at contact@harrywoodgate.com.
