I write arts features for the magazine, which focuses on art and culture from Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. Recently covered the re-opening of the Mauritshuis Royal Picture Gallery in The Hague.
I invigilated at the commercial gallery; liaised with the public and answered questions about exhibitions.
Managed the Bethnal Green hub (2013) and Bermondsey hub (2014) spaces as part of the Art Licks Weekend, a 3-day event promoting young artists, galleries and curators. Managed volunteers, dealt with enquiries, informed the public about the event, exhibitions and performances in the local area.
Assisted in research and writing for the Eating and Drinking Guide to London 2014, The Guide to London 2014 and map work for the Las Vegas Guide 2014. Writing included London in a day itineraries, area highlights, free London, restaurant reviews and museum feature pieces. Checked listings in person and over the phone and used Quark publishing software.
Set up a 3 month social media plan for the company, controlled the Twitter account for 5 weeks and increased followers by 20%. Wrote articles and engaging content for their new website and Facebook page. Interviewed directors and actors for content surrounding upcoming shows. Set up listings with relevant publications. I also worked as a production assistant for 1 a day week and: Liaised with theatres and set up contracts for auditions 2014, prepared documentation for pastoral events and followed up on payments and documentation for skills courses.
I contributed works for the print magazine, helped with the editing process and compiled other artists’ contributions. I also helped with the set up and prep for launch events in Bristol and London. I controlled the Twitter account for the launch of the magazine and helped promote its events online.
I write album and show reviews and contribute to news features for the site.
