Diva is an independent fashion retailer who specialise in ready-to-wear womenswear. All design through to pattern cutting is done in-house and all garments are produced in the UK. Major clients include Sky News, ITV and Nigella Lawson. My responsibilities included: •Designing prints for A/W 14 •Trend research •Stocktaking •Interim reception cover •Assisted buyer with swatch sample selection
Accessorize are an international high street brand. During my internship I was able to learn how print and knitwear design work within retail as well as fashion accessories. Accessorize is a fast paced environment with a quick turnaround which suited me as I like to work under pressure. The main tasks given to me were: •Trend Research for catwalk, prints, stationary, bags and accessories. •Pulling prints together for Accessorize's AW14 collection. •Putting inspiration boards together. •Drawing motifs. •Checking digital print designs were in repeat and editing if not. •Help organise yarn samples for knitwear to be sent to suppliers. •Photographing samples.
Current employment & out of term-time employment whilst at university. Claibon is a recruitment specialist within in the residential property management sector. As an Office Administrator my duties included: •Answering and screening all incoming telephone calls •Arranging interviews •Meeting and Greeting clients and interviewees •Filing, photocopying and mailing •Obtaining and sending out references •Chasing missing timesheets and assisting payroll •Inputting candidates’ data •Adding bookings to the system •Checking passports and visas •Archiving Documents •Sorting post •Arranging the interview room as required by members of staff •Ad hoc duties for the Managing Director •Following up enquires such as requesting invoices, arranging couriers and sending out gifts to clients •Contacting and updating temporary staff timetables
