  • This all inclusive creative space was complete with a gallery room for exhibitions, a cinema for screenings and an area for interviews and workshops, meaning my experience here required me to be hands on, flexible and prepared for something new each day. My internship duties changed daily, meaning my tasks ranged from organising equipment and riders for the artists, to writing web content, creating media notes for interviewers use and researching and writing the questions for Q&As.

  • Overseeing the marketing of the company and keeping a strong presence across various social media platforms means I am well equipped to work in the field of digital media. Running the company Instagram and Facebook as well as our own app meant remaining conscious of the demand, recognising trends and tailoring my marketing to suit these. Promoting events such as pre-partys, art shows, comedy and jazz nights has taught me the cruciality of good PR and social media presence to a successful company. I relished the opportunity to photograph and share new developments with our following, and thrived on being able to shape the company image through marketing and watch the audience engage and multiply.

  • Working for the world-renowned club has given me a chance to experience an eclectic mix of artists, spanning many genres and tapping into a wealth of knowledge that would benefit working in an industry where staying current is crucial. My position in Public Relations for Subclub’s weekly night, Subrosa has allowed me to perfect my people skills as it encouraged me to work and interact with professionals and members of the public. As my job required me to work late nights, across many locations and venues in all sorts of conditions this demonstrated my strong work ethic, flexibility and my ability to work quickly and efficiently in unfamiliar environments as well as taking on ad hoc tasks and problem solving. This has included promoting Subrosa via use of social media, through distributing marketing materials, making a promotional video and through making connections in order to build up a consistent clientele and guest list.
