About me

Holly Stant is mixed media contemporary jewellery designer and maker from Colchester, Essex, UK. She recently graduated in 2018 in BA Hons Contemporary Jewellery with First Class Honours. Holly takes inspiration from her travels to various places and their maps. By digging deep into the information she gathers, Holly finds sources that she then transforms into jewellery. She uses a variation of materials such as wood, metal and acrylic, as she finds the contrasting combination of textures, colour and surfaces alluring. Her techniques vary from laser cutting and etching to piercing to in-laying. All the materials and techniques come together to tell a story.

  Mannlichen Brooch
• Swiss NecklacePhoto transferred onto plywood, laser cut, and stitched to make a necklace. Added map symbols to tie the piece back to its original inspiration; Switzerland.
• Pilatus BroochBrooch inspired by Mount Pilatus, Switzerland. Photo transferred on to plywood with an acrylic in lay. Cable car symbol etched on acrylic. Swiss cable car ticket set inside on reverse.
