About me
Honey is a Publishing with Creative Writing graduate with a first class degree who has a diverse range of high quality work experience. She used her time at university to take on many different opportunities, such as working directly with the BBC social media team at the Children’s Global Media Summit and interning with the Art Director of Oh Comely magazine. Honey received the Bath Spa alumni award during her third year of university, recognising her dedication to her course and future career. She was a finalist for the Creative Bath Student Award 2019 and won the Student of the Year award in the Vice Chancellor Awards at Bath Spa University. Additionally she acted on the founding committee of the Bath Spa Illustration Society for her second and third year of university. In its first year of running the society was shortlisted for ‘Best New Society’ in the NUS National Society Awards and won ‘Best Society 2018’ in the Bath Spa University Students’ Union Awards.

"It was a pleasure having Honey with us for work experience. She worked with creativity and flair, and went above and beyond with each task we gave her. She designed layouts in InDesign and also created stylish flat-lay photos for our letters page. We would love to work with Honey again in the future, as she has a strong work ethic and interesting and unique ideas." Alice Snape, Editor of Oh Comely Magazine. I interned with Oh Comely magazine, working alongside their Art Director. During my internship, I was given a variety of different roles. These included designing final page layouts, styling and shooting photographs and sourcing illustrators, all of which were used in the magazine. Additionally, I worked on prepping files for the digital edition of the issue and helped with organisational tasks such as file conversion.

"Honey brought flair, creativity and a highly professional and responsible attitude to her work as Art Director of milk this year. She showed great understanding of brand identity, building even further from the 2018 design – itself nominated for a Stack Magazines award – by bringing in more illustration and handwritten elements to add personality. Her role involved commissioning illustrators and photographers alongside layout – and she somehow also found time to conduct interviews and contribute her own photography. Honey showed great maturity in her approach, by both taking in feedback to refine her designs and also standing by her creative decisions when she needed to." - Caroline Harris, Module Coordinator I acted as the Art Director for the Stack Magazine Award nominated Bath Spa student magazine, milk. This role required me to design the page layouts for the magazine, commission content such as photography and illustration, create my own illustration and photography, organise logistical elements such as model release forms and work closely with the editor to guide the content of the magazine. Being Art Director demanded excellent time/project management in order to bring together multiple article layouts and work with various people to meet deadlines. It required great communication skills to ensure that others were fulfilling their roles and to commission content by contributors. Additionally, I also wrote two articles for the magazine, commissioned text and worked at the milk x Society of Young Publishers Making Magazines Event live streaming on Twitter.
