About me
About me... I'm a creative and enthusiastic individual with a passion for textiles and working in design environments. Graduating in July 2019 with a First Class Honours degree in Textile Design, with a specialism in Retail Management (inc. skills in Visual Merchandising, Buying and Marketing, Trend Forecasting and Sustainable textile futures). My career started before my degree, where I worked for Dunelm as a Design Consultant. I learnt I had a passion for textiles and design, learning about construction of window dressings and fabric handle and application. After a few years I decided to further my education of design by attending Birmingham City university. I was fortunate enough to have many great experiences, one of which was attending Escola Massana, Centre d’Art i Disseny Barcelona for a semester in my second year. I worked on many projects throughout my degree, my most memorable being my final major project, where I researched, designed and created a Visual Trend Book for applications in fashion and design. I have an innate passion for trend forecasting, so it was fantastic to be able to research and implement concepts of future design, sustainable textile futures and colour intelligence. I love to bring together concepts, research, visual mood boards and graphic design with photography to create exciting projects. The next move in my career after finishing university was to dive into a job in Visual Merchandising. I currently manage visual flow of my store, creating stories which are on brand using props and product. I've implemented many window schemes, and oversee and plan all seasonal launches. My attitude is to be flexible and adaptable to all situations, thinking of creative ways to overcome situations! Please send me an email and to say hello!
